How the pricing works
There's one simple rule. Carpet fitting starts at a £60 minimum charge which covers up to 15 square metres, and anything over that is £4 per extra square metre. Sheet vinyl, which I also fit, is a £70 minimum up to 15 sqm and then £4.50 per extra sqm.
Gripper and tape are included. The only extras are the materials your job genuinely needs: underlay by the bag, door bars at £6 each, and stair rods at £5 per rod. I don't ply sub-floors.
Typical room sizes and fitting costs
These are worked examples using the same £60 / £4 per sqm rule, not a separate price list. Your actual figure depends on the measured area, which I confirm free before anything is booked.

Common questions
How much is it to fit carpet in one bedroom?
Most bedrooms come in under 15 sqm, so the £60 minimum charge covers the fitting. A large master bedroom of, say, 20 sqm would be £60 plus 5 sqm at £4 — £80 in total.
How much does it cost to carpet stairs and a landing?
Stairs and landings are priced on the measured area like any other job, starting at the £60 minimum. A fitted stair runner is a separate job starting from £100, and stair rods are £5 per rod.
Are there any extras on top?
Only the bits you need: door bars at £6 each, underlay by the bag (11mm high density is £60 per bag), and stair rods at £5 each. Gripper and tape are included in the fitting. No ply sub-floors.
Do you charge for measuring or quoting?
No. Measuring and quoting are free, and you get the price in writing before anything is booked.
