Commercial flooring lives or dies on disruption. Most of the small commercial work I do — offices, treatment rooms, salons, village halls and shop floors — gets fitted early morning, evening or at a weekend so nobody loses a day's trade.
You deal with the person doing the work throughout, so if the plan needs to change on the day it changes there and then.

Why carpet tiles suit most offices
- Individually replaceable — swap a damaged tile, not the floor
- Easy to lift for floor boxes and cable runs
- Heavy contract wear ratings for corridors and desks
- Directional laying (quarter-turn or monolithic) for different looks
- Very little waste compared with broadloom on an awkward layout

Common questions
Can you fit outside opening hours?
Yes. Offices, salons and pubs are often easier to fit early, late or at a weekend, and it means you lose no trading time. Say what window you have when you enquire.
Carpet tiles or broadloom for an office?
Carpet tiles for most offices — they're hard-wearing, quick to lift for cabling, and you can swap individual damaged tiles instead of replacing a whole floor. Broadloom looks smarter in reception areas and meeting rooms.
Do you fit contract vinyl too?
Sheet vinyl is also available for kitchens, back-of-house areas and washrooms, priced at a £70 minimum up to 15 sqm and then £4.50 per extra sqm. Carpet remains my main trade.
How is commercial work priced?
The same transparent way as domestic: measured area at a £60 minimum up to 15 sqm, then £4 per extra sqm for carpet, with materials on top. Larger contracts get a written quote before booking.
