The total you pay depends on the size of the rooms, the type of carpet, whether old flooring needs lifting, and if you want extras like new underlay or door bars fitted.

The price summary above covers the core carpet, vinyl, stairs and accessory costs. A few extra details:
- Stairs only from £80, stairs & landing from £100, and a full hall, stairs & landing from £120. Larger than average landings and hallways cost more.
- Twists and kite steps add £5 each and bullnose steps add £10 each.
- I uplift old carpet or vinyl from the floor, but disposal is not included — customers arrange a skip or tip run.
- I don't ply sub-floors. If the sub-floor needs work I'll flag it at the free measure so you can arrange a joiner.

What affects the cost?
Room size & shape
Larger rooms cost more overall, but the price per m² drops. Awkward shapes and lots of doorways take longer.
Stairs & landings
Stairs are labour-intensive. Winders, bullnoses and multiple landings add time and skill.
Underlay & extras
New underlay, gripper rods and door bars improve finish and longevity. I can supply these or fit your own.
Furniture & access
If rooms are fully furnished, clearing and moving items adds time. Good access and empty rooms keep costs down.

Yes. Need carpet supplied and fitted? I can take care of everything from measuring and samples through to supply and professional fitting. Supply-only is available too. Already bought your carpet elsewhere? No problem — fit-only is still available.

Each room or area has a £70 minimum carpet fitting charge covering up to 15 m², then £4.50 per additional m² over 15 m². Vinyl fitting has the same per-room minimum of £70 up to 15 m², then £5 per extra m². Stairs only start from £80, stairs & landing from £100 and a full hall, stairs & landing from £120, with £5 extra per twist or kite and £10 extra per bullnose step.
What is the average cost to fit carpet in a bedroom?
A typical 12 m² bedroom is fitted for the £70 minimum labour charge. A larger 20 m² master bedroom is around £92.50 labour, plus underlay, gripper and door bars if needed.
Do you supply carpet or fit only?
Both. I supply and fit carpet from my own ranges, with free measuring and samples, and supply-only is available. If you've already bought carpet from a local retailer, showroom or online, I'll fit it.
How much are door bars and underlay?
Door bars are £6 each (3ft). Underlay is £40 per 15 m² roll for 8mm, £50 for 10mm and £60 for 12mm. Gripper rod is £1 per 1.5 m length.
Do you uplift and dispose of old carpet?
I uplift old carpet from £20 per room but don't dispose of it — customers arrange skip or tip run. I don't ply-board sub-floors.
